This High Risk Group is Also Not Well Protected from The Vaccine

Is anyone going to try to help this group now? Or am I still the bad guy for pointing it out.

We had data on influenza vaccines prior to this pandemic showing that folks living with higher obesity had poorer responses to vaccines. Meaning they don’t seroconvert well and the vaccines don’t work so great on them.

This is the SAME group that’s been hit the hardest by COVID, aside from the elderly.

Because we refuse to acknowledge or talk about it, these people are unaware and getting NO HELP.

This pisses me off to no end. The government, the health authorities and everyone trying to silence the helpers are doing a massive disservice to this portion of our population.

Considering 1 in 4 children are obese in this country, over 1 in 3 adults are obese and the states are even higher for overweight adults, WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH NO FORESEEABLE SOLUTION.

What’s the CURRENT data showing?

A recent pre-print study suggested that obesity may accelerate waning of antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and increased breakthrough infections with COVID-19 and documented evidence of reduced neutralizing antibody capacity 6 months after primary vaccination in people with severe obesity.¹

This was a prospective longitudinal study of the incidence and severity of COVID-19 infections and immune responses in a cohort of more than 3.5 million adults from the Scottish EAVE II study who received 2-3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
