Thank you for this, it answered a lot of questions for me. On my doctors advice. I started Ozempic today. I’m 65 years old and morbidly obese weighing 254 pounds at 5‘8“. I was skinny at 130 pounds all of my early adulthood until I started having children. It’s uncanny that you would say there was a switch flipped because that’s the exact words my doctor used back in my early 30’s when I couldn’t lose weight after having children. He said there was a switch flipped metabolically, and we just had to figure out how to turn it back on and quite frankly, we never did. I am excited yet nervous about this journey. I’m worried it won’t work for me. Because quite honestly, I don’t eat a lot. I think I eat some of the wrong things but overall I don’t eat a lot especially since I learned about intermittent fasting. The first time I tried intermittent fasting I lost 37 pounds. I stopped it and gained it back during Covid lockdown. I’ve been eating one meal a day for months and months now, and haven’t lost an ounce. I don’t understand my body and how it works, it is beyond my comprehension. I don’t understand why things that work for other people don’t work for me. But I’m really hoping and praying that that won’t be the case with Ozempic. I really want it to work.

You mentioned that allopathic doctors aren’t prescribing these at the right doses. What dose do you suggest starting and then what is the maximum dose… So that I’ll know if my doctor is “doing it right“. Lol she is amazing and will listen to what I suggest. Thank you for this podcast, because you just changed my mind on these peptides/drugs.

Unfortunately I can't talk dosing specifics as that gets too much into "medical advice" land. Going slow and low is best in my opinion.

Thus was incredibly helpful! I’ve been on Semaglutide for six months and it has completely changed my life! I strength train 3 to 4 times a week, and I eat a higher protein diet with fresh veggies and fruit and I’m so happy I started down this path.

Thank you for doing the ‘heavy lifting’ and bringing the research to us in an easily digestible format :) pun intended. Peptides are indeed life changing! and I tend to agree with your analysis re: why all the hysteria… since the rise of social media, negative advertising has become a major tool for almost every entity selling anything… very sad, but true.

Love your podcast!!! Thank you for all your help. Dr. Tyna are you able to share what on-line Dr./companies that your patient’s have used that claim to have had success with. I don’t want your medical advice just what you have heard from your patients or individuals.

Truly enjoyed this episode. I have lost about 117 pounds over 3 years- but have gained about 30 back. I hit the gym 5 days a week M-F and do both cardio and weight lifting. While I know a lot of that is muscle mass I still know my waist line is bigger than I want it to be. I deal with PCOS (busted metabolism) and while that has gotten better it is still there along with Hashimoto’s. My diet is pretty dialed in but I have been looking into this med and given all of the benefits, I am finally going to talk to my FNP about it. Will also be providing data to help my case. Thank you for your time and research into all of the data that’s out there in this.

Dr. Tyna, I have a question to pose. Dr. Bryan Ardis is saying the drug is made from Gila monsters and that it is poison. Yes, that sounds far-fetched and out of this world. Dr. Ardis is pretty on point with many things but he has also said a lot of wild stuff too. So, I am remaining skeptical on all statements. What are your thoughts?

Thank you so much!!! I am trying to come off of this drug because I thought it was so bad for me after losing a total of 65 pounds, but my liver is still fat. My A1C has lowered, but my circumstance is still out of proportion with my height. I am scared to death to stay on, but I am more scared to come off. But this episode totally put my mind at ease about sticking it out a bit longer and changing my habits so I can come off with som success when I get my metabolic health back. Thank you SO much!
