Mounjaro user here—the switch flipped (helped by the use of Lexapro, I believe) and nothing could stop the weight gain and sugar cravings. I lost 50 lbs, am no longer prediabetic, and I’ve been maintaining on a lowish dose for 6 months. Few side effects. I’ve done this while exercising moderately (including weights!) and “eating whatever I want,” which hasn’t been complete garbage, more of an “everything in moderation” philosophy. While losing I had a dramatically reduced appetite, but now I probably eat apx 2000 cals a day with no gain. Now, a year after starting, I am choosing to quit sugar, not to lose weight (how liberating!) but simply to foster longevity, a sharper mind, and a healthy metabolism, so perhaps one day I will quit altogether. Mounjaro is a miracle drug, full stop. Less anxiety, zero inflammation, less desire for alcohol, and I am FREE from weight obsession for perhaps the first time since I was a teen.
